A cricket club founded by ALUMNI OF Haverford College: 1858 to the PRESENT…

In the Spring of 2018 a small group of alumni met before the annual Alumni Cricket Match to discuss the status of the cricket program at Haverford College. During subsequent meetings, it was decided that it would be beneficial for the alumni to establish an formal entity (Haverford Alumni Cricket Club) that could undertake four key objectives.

  1. Create a forum to share, discuss and coordinate ideas for alumni support to cricket at the college, and thereby build a community for those who value having played cricket as an important part of their Haverford College experience

  2. Endeavor to support the continuity of cricket at the college, so as to create awareness of the history and legacy of cricket a the college, particularly important due to the many changes at the college in recent years.

  3. Establish an Alumni Cricket Team, to play social matches in the Mid-Atlantic and other regions, as well as to host social events to strengthen the ties between the Haverford cricket alumni of different generations.

  4. As Haverford College Alumni, to promote cricket programs in academic institutions and other nonprofit community organizations throughout the United States, as well as support educational outreach to promote cricket as a sport for boys and girls.

A year later, in May of 2019, an ad hoc committee of cricket alumni conducted an election to select the first officers of the Haverford Alumni Cricket Club (HACC). In October 2022, the HACC was approved as a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit, so that contributions to the entity qualify as tax-deductible, and it is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts.
